I first met Anna at Bookbug story time many years ago. I had a heads up to look for a beautiful mom of 3(at the time) so striking up a conversation was not purely coincidental, she was easy to spot. We quickly got to chatting about pregnancy and birth and the midwifery program she was in. Over the years I followed her career and mostly grew to knew Anna through the women she cared for. In her patients’ stories I got to learn about her creativity, love, empathy and dedication. It is clear that Anna connected with her patients’ as people first and then got to work collaborating with then on their HEALTHcare.
At her celebration of life I was moved to do more. Many of her friends expressed that it is going to take all of us coming together to make a better community for women and their children, now that Anna is no longer here to do her work in the world. I am excited to do just that, with a lot of help from my friends.
