I became a patient of Anna’s a few years ago, and after sitting with Anna in my first appointment, I cried tears of relief and gratitude because of her compassion. From the moment I met her, she made me feel so seen and cared for. We shared sweet connection touchpoints of being alum of Hope College and fellow foster mamas. Her warmth, curiosity, tenderness, intelligence, and belief in me made me feel so safe, seen and heard. I stand in awe of her bravery and open-heartedness in the face of grief, and can only hope to embody a fraction of her presence throughout my life. Anna, you are so deeply missed already. I am richer for having known you and having been known by you.
